The Museum Field in Transition

January 30th 2014 the 4th RUCMUS conference was held under the title “The Museum Field in Transition”. This year’s theme was “The dangerous Museum?”.

With case studies from Denmark and UK, issues and experiences concerning politics, art, ethics and ownership relating to the role of museums and exhibition design were addressed.

The conference marked also the opening of Roskilde Universities Centre for Cultural Studies RUCMUS involving RU and six museums on Zealand and was opened by vice-chancelor Ib Poulsen.

Around 80 museum professionals /(curators, researchers), and university based museum researchers were among the audience to listen to keynotes addresses and participate in debate with:

Anne Folke Hemmingsen, Copenhagen University
Janet Marstin, School of Museum Studies, Leister University
Christian Sune Pedersen, National Museum of Denmark
Anette Warring, Roskilde University
